Where to Buy and Reload Tickets

  1. OSY (Buses & Trolleybuses):

  • Tickets and reloading options are available at OSY vendor locations.
  • You can also buy tickets at the Athens International Airport near the Express Bus departure area.

  1. STASY (Metro & Tramway):

  • Purchase or reload tickets at Automatic Ticket Vending Machines in all metro stations (Lines 1, 2, 3) and many tramway stations.
  • Payment at Tramway vending machines is card-only.
  • Staffed ticket counters at metro and tram stations also offer ticket purchase and reloading services.

  1. OASA (General Network):

  • Automatic Ticket Vending Machines are located at many spots around Athens for buying or reloading tickets.
  • OASA partners with kiosks and stores where you can purchase tickets or reload your ATH.ENA Ticket. Use the interactive map to find these locations.

 

The ATH.ENA Ticket

The ATH.ENA Ticket is a reloadable paper ticket ideal for visitors staying in Athens for a limited time. It is perfect for occasional public transport users and allows you to load any type of ticket or ticket pack, such as single tickets, daily passes, or multi-day options.

  • Reloading:

    You can reload your ATH.ENA Ticket at any Automatic Ticket Vending Machine, staffed ticket counter, or kiosk with partnered OASA services.

  • Reusability:

    Once a ticket expires, you can simply reload a new one onto your ATH.ENA Ticket, making it a flexible choice for tourists.

Types of Tickets

  1. 90-Minute Single Ticket:

  • Price: €1.20 (Discounted: €0.50)
  • Valid for buses, trolleybuses, trams, metro (Lines 1, 2, 3 to Koropi), and the Suburban Railway (between Magoula – Piraeus – Koropi).
  • Not valid for Airport Express bus lines or Metro Line 3 from Koropi to the Airport.
  1. Daily Ticket:

  • Price: €4.10
  • Unlimited travel across OASA services for 24 hours.
  • Valid for X80 bus line but not valid for Airport Express bus lines or Metro Line 3 from Koropi to the Airport.
  1. 5-Day Ticket:

  • Price: €8.20
  • Unlimited travel across OASA services for five consecutive days.
  • Not valid for Airport Express bus lines or Metro Line 3 from Koropi to the Airport.
  1. 3-Day Tourist Ticket:

  • Price: €20.00
  • Includes unlimited travel for 72 hours across all OASA services.
  • Includes two one-way trips to/from the Athens International Airport (by Metro or Express Bus).
  • Valid for X80 bus line.
  1. Airport Tickets:

  • Express Bus Ticket: €5.50 (Discounted: €2.70) for a one-way trip to/from the Airport.
  • Metro Airport Ticket: €9.00 (Discounted: €4.50) for a one-way trip.
  • Two-way Metro Ticket: €16.00 (valid for 30 days).
  1. Discounted Ticket Packs:

  • Available for frequent travelers in packs of 2, 5, or 10+1 tickets at a reduced rate.
  • These bundles can be loaded onto your ATH.ENA Ticket.

How to Validate Your Ticket

  • Metro & Suburban Railway Stations: Scan your ATH.ENA Ticket at the blue readers located near entrance gates. Follow the green arrows to enter. The gates will not open if the ticket isn’t validated.
  • Buses, Trolleybuses, & Trams: Validate your ticket once when boarding the vehicle by tapping it on the blue reader.
  • Always ensure that your ticket is valid for the full length of your trip. If your 90-minute validity period expires, you will need to reload or purchase another ticket.

Fines for traveling without a valid ticket can be up to €72 (€36 for discounted fares).

Contactless Payment (Airport Express Bus Lines)

For Airport Express bus lines, contactless payment is available via credit cards, smartphones, or smartwatches (Apple Pay, Google Pay). You don’t need a pre-purchased ticket—just tap your card on the blue reader when boarding.

Save with Ticket Bundles

Travelers can save by purchasing ticket bundles, such as the 10+1 pack. This offers the benefit of a “maximum fare cap”—if you validate four tickets in one day, you won’t be charged for any additional trips that day. Just keep validating your ATH.ENA Ticket for a smooth travel experience.
