Today it’s Holy Monday for the Orthodox Easter, in Greece too, the week before Easter. If you happen to travel in  Athens this  week here are some events you could join  to feel the spirit of the days. Even if the majority of Athenians leave the city these days for some villages and islands, this is also the best period for foreign travelers to enjoy the empty Athens at most. Have also in mind that shops will have extended opening hours, so this is your time for shopping too.
