Ampelokipoi area is a mosty business area, very close to Lycabettus hill. It is also the area where most of the central hospitals and medical centers of Athens are. Kifissias and Mesogeion Avenues are the two main roads which cross the area. But it’s also an area you will meet many cinemas, theaters, bars and restaurans and museums around, and many locals prefer going out here.

The information provided in this travel guide is what guests staying in one of our furnished apartments are mostly interested in.

Transport Information

The area has two metro stops which could serve easily your daily routes. Both are metro stops of Blue line and connected directly to the airport of Athens too. Furthermore, from Kifissias avenue you will find plenty of buses which can take you to every part of the city. Walking is also a choice, if you really really like it: have in mind that you will need 30 minutes to reach on the top of Lycabettus hill and about 40 minutes to reach Syntagma square.

• Piatsa Tylichto – Larissis 33 Athens. If you want to taste a really good souvlaki in this area, don’t miss to visit this place!
• Arismari & Avarsamo – Dimitsanas 46 Athens. This is a greek restaurant with cretan cuisine, probably the most delicious recipes of the country. If you haven’t visited Crete until now, visit at least this place.

Multiple places to enjoy a night out or even watch major sporting events.

• Le Roi – Panormou 117B, Athens. One of the most historic rock bars in Athens.
• The Wee Drum Scottich Bar – Konopisopoulou 23, Athens. One of the most known bars with international visitors, so if you don’t speak greek, or if you want to learn other languades, just go there.

Recommended Cafes

Greeks do enjoy their coffee regularly. Don’t forget to try the iced espresso drinks such as Fredo Espresso or Fredo Cappucino.

Shopping

There are multiple small shops and supermarkets in Ampelokipoi area. From souvenir shops to anything you can imagine. Cloudkeys provides key local markets worth visiting.

• Kifissias Avenue – In this avenue you will meet most of the shops you may need: bigger or smaller, known brands or local, supermarket or smaller groceries shop.
• Panormou area – But don’t forget to visit also the area around Panormou Metro stop, where you will find smaller local shops, but with a wide variety of things you probably want to buy.
