Nowhere – the last passenger is asked to board

Leonidas Vassilopoulos’ photographic project, “Nowhere – the last passenger begs to board”, is reintroduced to us in a different way, at the Fouar multi-purpose space in the centre of Athens. After the successful photographic exhibition entitled “Male”, Leonidas Vassilopoulos returns to Foire, from 11 to 22 January 2023, with the photographic project “Nowhere – the last passenger is begging to board”.

A few words about the exhibition
The photographic project “Nowhere – the last passenger is begging to board”, was presented in February 2015 at the Magaze multi-purpose space in Aeolou street and in the summer of the following year at the cultural events of the Municipality of Ermoupolis, in Syros.

Eight years later, the exhibition is re-invented in a different way and with a different aesthetic, at the Fouar multiplex in the centre of Athens.

A few years ago, photographs of the buildings of the former Elliniko airport circulated on the internet. I was saddened by this abandonment. I have memories of this airport. I travelled as a child. The idea of creating the best airline in the world, the Olympic Airline, was born there. I remember my grandmother taking her son to America. I only travel with Olympic, my child, she would say, so that the money stays in Greece“.
