Tip of the day 28/7/2022 – 10th Syros International Film Festival

If you are in Athens now and you are looking for your next adventure to the greek islands, Syros is calling you to attend its 10th International Film Festival from today until August 31st. Syros is one of the most beautiful Cycladic island and only 2h by the ferry from Piraeus. During the festival you can explore different locations of the island as you watching movies by night, and the day you will explore the beaches and  the cycladic food.

Founded in 2013, the Syros International Film Festival (SIFF) showcases a wide spectrum of cinema in traditional and re-purposed island sites. Located in the middle of the Aegean summer, removed from the usual demands and hierarchies of the film industry, SIFF embeds events, styles and programs – experimental and narrative, recent and retrospective, Greek and international, workshops and expanded cinema performance – into its unique setting. The festival aims to welcome an array of cinematic experiences into this immersive dreamscape, allowing us to re-think the question of “What is cinema?”

But if you still want to remain in Athens, two interesting events happen tonight in the city: Calexico play again at Technopolis, a band  that greek audience loves and they already visited Greece many times, while at Niarchos Park there is a tribute to Pink Floyd album ark side of the Moon for its 50 Year Anniversary by Greek Radio Symphony Orchestra and Choir.
