The 9th of February, the day of commemoration of the national poet Dionysios Solomos, has been established as the World Day of the Greek Language, according to the joint decision of the Ministers of Interior, Foreign Affairs and Education, Research and Religious Affairs (Government Gazette B’ 1384/24/04/2017).

So, if you don’t speak Greek at all, do you want now to learn some basics words and phrases that  you can use during your next trip to the country?  Yes, Greek is one of the most difficult language of the world for many people, but let’s try:
