Opened in 1991, it houses four performance halls—including the grand Christos Lambrakis Hall, seating nearly 1,960 guests—and is home to Greece’s largest pipe organ, a majestic instrument sporting 6,080 pipes, the biggest of which stretches over 4.9 meters long

You can enjoy everything from classical concerts and opera to jazz, dance, and screenings, all while marveling at that awe-inspiring organ. Don’t miss the chance to explore the scenic Megaron Garden and indulge in refreshments at the on-site café or wine bar before or after a performance .
Below, you’ll find current and upcoming events, giving you the perfect opportunity to sync your trip with a memorable musical experience at Megaron.
Easter Concert | 8.4.2026, 20:30

At the traditional Easter concert co-organised by the Athens State Orchestra and Megaron the Athens Concert Hall, two masterpieces of the 20th and 19th centuries take centre stage: Benjamin Britten’s Sinfonia da Requiem, a work that uniquely combines religious feeling and the timeless anxiety in the face of inevitable death with impassioned anti-war messages; and Anton Bruckner’s Te Deum, in which the composer’s profound metaphysical contemplation gives rise to music that is at once monumental and deeply moving. Encountering this music, listeners are filled with a sense of reverence and awe, akin to that inspired by the great European cathedrals.
As a prelude to these two large-scale works, Schubert’s celebrated “Unfinished” Symphony stands as an enduring model of expressive restraint, pure spirituality and formal perfection.
The four distinguished opera soloists — all with prominent international careers in leading opera houses and concert halls — join two choirs and the Athens State Orchestra under the direction of the promising conductor Constantinos Terzakis, in his second collaboration with the Orchestra following an impressive debut last year.
Greek surtitles will be provided.
