At the heart of Kypseli is the Kypseli Municipal Market in Fokionos Negri square, a revitalized cultural space hosting local markets, art exhibitions, and community events. The neighborhood is also known for its lively food scene, offering everything from traditional Greek tavernas to international flavors reflecting its diverse community. Apart from Fokionos Negri, don’t miss out to visit Agiou Georgiou square, one of the most lively squares of the neighborhood!

Soon, the area will have its own metro station in  Kypseli square, on the top of Fokionos Negri pedestrian s tree.  For now, the closest station is  Victoria metro stop (green line) with the characteristic green tiles, reminds you maybe a Parisienne metro station.

Fired Up Athens Ceramic Fair, vol.8 | 9 & 10 May 2026

The one and only Athenian ceramics market returns to our favorite Kypseli Municipal Market this May. More than 50 contemporary ceramic artists will be showing and selling their unique handcrafted pieces. Fired Up has now established itself as a fixed meeting point between makers and ceramic art lovers who are passionate about discovering the greek ceramic art scene. During this two day event you will have the opportunity to meet the makers, discuss their pots, their inspiration and acquire your unique ceramics, functional, decorative or both!
