Vyronas is another neighborhood of Athens, located about 3 km southeast of Athens city center, which was also part of municipality of Athens but now is an independent municipality in the southeastern part of the city. Its name comes from George Gordon Byron, 6th Baron Byron, the famous English poet and writer, who is a national hero of Greece. The most important reason that many Athenians  visit this neighborhood especially every summer is the open-air Theater of Rocks where many concerts takes place this period, as well the open-air cinema Arkadia.

It is easily accessible by public transport by the trolley bus 11 from Syntagma square which makes its last stop in the open-air theatre and it moves 24h around the city.

Another reason that Vyronas is worth for a visit is Vyronas Street Art Festival, so the area is probably one of the most colorful of athens with many street art murals – you can discover as you walk around the neighborhood.
