Tip of the day – Summer in Athens: The official program of the city

This summer starts in the neighbourhoods of Athens. For a whole month, from 21 June to 20 July, the squares, parks, open fields and courtyards of cultural venues will be filled with music, dance and theatre performances for children, with free admission for residents and visitors of the city.

The rich program of the “Summer in Athens 2025” festival, organized by the Municipality of Athens, under the supervision of the Culture, Sports and Youth Organization (OPANDA), includes 57 cultural events in 41 locations in the city, in the neighborhoods of all 7 Municipal Communities.

Young spectators are in the limelight again this year, with a rich programme that “awakens” imagination, curiosity and the joy of discovery. Puppet theatre, theatrical events, musical stories and interactive performances fill the summer afternoons with colour, sound and play.

The National Garden hosts two unique concerts with the Athens Big Band in a journey from swing to modern jazz forms and the Greek Music Workshop, highlights favourite melodies of Greek cinema. At the same time, the city’s favourite radio stations set up two special parties. Easy 97.2 and Rhythmos 94.9 will be at Fokionos Negri Square in the morning, while 96.9 Rock FM, 92.3 Lambda and 95.2 Athens Dee Jay will be waiting for you at Rizari Park in the afternoon. Finally, the “Vassilis Avlonitis” Park will host a programme of folk and rebetiko songs.
