Tip of the day – Summer in Athens: The official program of the city

This summer starts in the neighbourhoods of Athens. For a whole month, from 20 June to 20 July, the squares, parks, open fields and courtyards of cultural venues will be filled with music, dance and theatre performances for children, with free admission for residents and visitors of the city.

The rich program of the “Summer in Athens 2026” festival, organized by the Municipality of Athens, under the supervision of the Culture, Sports and Youth Organization (OPANDA), includes 63 cultural events in 50 locations in the city, in the neighborhoods of all 7 Municipal Communities.

Young spectators are in the limelight again this year, with a rich programme that “awakens” imagination, curiosity and the joy of discovery. Puppet theatre, theatrical events, musical stories and interactive performances fill the summer afternoons with colour, sound and play.

Also, there is a brand new festival this summer under the name Attica roots with various concerts in important archaeological sites or popular spots of the city.
