Piano City Athens will transform the city into an impromptu 3-day piano playground. It’s the first city-wide festival in Athens. After inspiring thousands of people in Berlin, Milan and other global metropolises, Piano City is now making its way to Athens.

A project for the city that since the beginning has been characterized as a project of and with the city thanks to an innovative working method which involves institutions, artists, associations, network and partners.

Piano City Athens does not wait for an audience but reaches out in the squares, in people’s homes in unconventional venues; this diffusion does concentrate the attention on the city center but peacefully invades the entire urban landscape. It brings people of all classes and interests together through music on a very personal level…

What will happen at Piano City Athens? – 3 days full of music!

70 house concerts – Piano virtuosos and amateurs, selected by the artistic committee, will open their homes and hearts to the general public. They will demonstrate their skill and talent by giving small piano concerts in their homes with a repertoire ranging from classic to contemporary repertoire. Enthusiasts, as well as the general public, will have the unique opportunity to enjoy these melodic experiences.

Piano concerts in public and private spaces – In addition to the house concerts, piano concerts will be organized, literally, all over Athens.

In an airport waiting room, on the subway, in a train station, in a park, in a department store or an office.in a bank or a school or a conservatory.

In a hotel, a theater, a museum. Or just in middle of the road.
