Tip of the day 27/6/2023 – Summer cinemas: An experience to live at your summer-in-Athens!

If you are travelling to Athens during summer, one good way to spend your nights in the city, especially if the day is too hot, is to watch a movie at a open-air cinema (or summer cinema) while drinking  your beer and eating pop-corn. Apart from the typical cinemas of each neighborhood like these we described in a previous post, there are also some more unique experiences which include also  a pool, a themed gastro-night or a night at the museum.

Pool your cinema @ Hotel  Grand-Bretagne: What if you  spend your  night at the rooftop of the most luxurious hotel in Athens watching some old classic movies as having by your side some delicious finger food next to the pool and under the view of Acropolis and Lycabettus hill? Yes, you can do it! Entrance: 50 euros.

Stellar Gastro Cinema: The best, themed, gastro-film nights in town at one of the most beautiful terraces of the city. This week there is “East meets West”.  Entrance 35 euros.

Cine Athens War Museum: From last summer, in the yard of Athens  War Museum, you can  watch movies and enjoy your dinner at the restaurant which is in the same  place. And why not, doing all these after a visit to one of the most important museums of Athens.

Gardens of Athens French School: And of course, not to forget the 13th Athens Open Air Film Festival which takes place in various spots of Athens, and tonight in collaboration with the Plein-Air Festival of the French Institute presents “Mississippi Mermaid” by François Truffaut. Free admission.
