Tip of the day 4/8/2022 – Daily trip to Nafplio

Nafplio, one of the most beautiful cities of Greece, is just a 2h drive from the capital of country, and  it is for sure worth for a daily excursion this period. Apart from the visit to the old town and climb at its castle with 999 stairs (maybe less, but this is the urban myth), you could also visit the important archaeological site of Mycenae which is very close, and the archaeological site of Nemea, while tasting some local wine, as this area is famous for its vineyards. Of course, as we are in the middle of the greek summer, don’t forget to swim at Karathonas or Arvanitia beach with a view to the Palamidi castle.

And as for the night, a real local experience is to attend a music festival which takes place this weekend inside an old factory at Nea Kios, called Lelekios Fiesta. Or if you want something less alternative, a drink at Syntagma Square ofo Nafplio (yes, it has the same name with the central square of Athens) is always a good idea.
